Happy March...to all who are Irish, and the rest of us as well.
Last year, we had a record breaking 21" of snow, this year it was temperatures in the 70's. I much prefer the latter. My yellow crocuses are poking their little heads up and the tulip's green leaves are getting higher and higher.
I feel like this is my New Year's season...the first of Jan is not nearly as exciting as the beginning of Spring; I actually look forward to cleaning out the house and getting new projects done. The first major one is a new driveway---whohoo! look at me...livin' the dream!!
Keep those Irish eyes smilin'.

Well, didn't January whiz on by...or was I just too wrapped up in a blanket with a
great book (The Story of Edgar Sawtelle) to notice?? Perhaps that, and watching all of
the snow and ice fall this past month.
I took some great pics of my feathered friends
gathering hungrily at the feeders I have hanging about. One or two are Christmas Card
worthy, I think.
And now, February, with its own changes--and not just the weather and more daylight.
I had a good interview at OSU's surgery dept, and tomorrow I go in to
shadow the crew for a few hours. Honestly, I do not want to work there, but rather in
one of the off-site surgery centers where it's 7-3 five days a week and no holidays or
dreaded on-call duties.
But if I can maintain my 80 hours at MCE, I could hang in there until something opens up at OSU. Damn! I just hate it when they move my cheese!!!
Happy Ground Hog's Day...

Another year gone by...
2008---It's been one wild ride, and I'm not sure if it's winding down, cresting the hill (with the resulting drop), or if we're stuck in midair awaiting the rescue team. I never did like roller coasters, and I am ready to get off this one, NOW.
Any resolutions for 2009?? No, I think I'll set goals instead: maintain a healthy life,
keep a positive attitude, stay in motion. If you rest, you rust,or so said my Aunt Evelyn.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!

Christmas rush
Well, Jerry is off to Chicago to fetch brother Jim, then on to Brooklyn Iowa for
the family Christmas. Unfortunately, Julia is snowed in and can't make the trip;
not sure if she'll make it later in the week. I'll miss going, but I must stay behind
to work the weekend after Christmas.
For now, I'm tying up loose ends, getting last minute gifts, making a few more cards
and not looking forward to cleaning up the clutter that invades my life.
I really want the housework gene...the one that is dominate, not recessive so my house
will always look lovely....
Oh, yea and the one that makes people say..."hmmm, I forgot to eat today..."

speed bump
Now, if only I can get this thing to publish, I can start my blog. I managed to get some pics of my yard up but that was hours ago! I have lived in this, my first house, for 18 years now and the landscaping changes a lot. Jerry, my beloved, keeps asking...."is it finished yet?" Silly man!
Only a Gardener knows that a garden constantly changes, and not just with the seasons. My path, for example has been mulch, cocoa shells (smelled heavenly, tracked in house horribly) and pea gravel--my final and favorite. Plants come and go, some won't go, and gazing balls get shattered in hail storms. So, no, my love I am not "done yet" and hopefully will never be.

INTRODUCTION
Here we go....kicking and screeching into the 21st century by starting a blog. I guess one is never too old to start something new; for instance, I can do more than just talk on my(new) cell phone. But friends inform me that taking photos with them has been going on for nearly a decade now.
And speaking of photos, I still cart my real camera everywhere there is an occasion. Yes, I get "the look" when I want to snap some one's photo, but they are always the first to request "a copy of that picture you took".
Now, the naming of the blog...I was reading my friend's entry early one morning. This is unusual because I work second shift as an RN in a hospital operating room. I had been on-call that night, and before going back to bed I checked my email (yup, while wearing my scrubs--clean ones, mind you) when I decided to start my own blog. This will be a unique undertaking for me. I remember having a diary as a young girl, but never wanting my writings out there for all to see. This must be one of those 21st century things.....
